About Us
Founded in 1944 as Metropolitan Meat, Seafood & Poultry, our company began in Washington, D.C., and relocated to Landover, MD, in 1989. Despite industry challenges, we expanded steadily by focusing on exceptional customer service and high-quality products. In 1986, we acquired a local seafood company, and by 1999, we had become a full-service center-of-the-plate protein specialist with a USDA-approved meat processing area.
Renamed Metropolitan Meat, Seafood & Poultry in 2002, we grew our service area to cover much of the Mid-Atlantic, including Philadelphia and southern Virginia, and expanded our product line to include gourmet specialties. We have maintained a commitment to food safety, security, and superior customer service, with live representatives available from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Today, as Buckhead Mid-Atlantic, we are the leading distributor of center-of-the-plate proteins and specialty foods in the Mid-Atlantic region, serving hotels, restaurants, caterers, schools, and specialty retailers.
